Biography
Decatur, Michigan greeted the world to Howard Hall on 30 May 1867, and by 1916 he had traded Midwestern quiet for the flicker of silent film. Audiences first felt his presence in *According to Law*, then watched him stride through *The Barrier* and *The Weavers of Life* the following year, each frame sealing his face to the era’s nascent dream-factory. Off-screen, he claimed Carrie Viola Vanderhoof as his lifelong scene partner. The final curtain fell in Long Beach, California on 25 July 1921, but the celluloid still keeps him moving.
