Biography
A piano prodigy from rural Illinois, Hubert Dawley slipped into the movie business as a teenager, composing the stirring score that lifts the 1915 child-labor melodrama Children of Eve. Sixteen years later he swapped the keyboard for a camera, chronicling the 1931 voyage from Siam to Korea and later crafting the lush orchestral backdrop to 1932’s The Temple of Love.
