Biography
Chicago welcomed Jack Abbott on 18 November 1886, and by 1915 he was already juggling two callings—scribbling stories and stepping before the camera. That year alone, audiences met him in the corruption exposé Graft and the tropical fantasy The Fair God of Sun Island; five years later he resurfaced as the scheming lead in The Figurehead. The curtain fell on 17 January 1964 in Los Angeles, but the reels he left behind still spin.
