Biography
Jack Meredith stepped in front of the camera just as the silent era was finding its voice. In 1916 he appeared in two very different cautionary tales: The Almighty Dollar, a brisk lesson in how money bends morals, and Vultures of Society, a melodrama that pitted privilege against poverty. A year later he surfaced again in The Man Hater, a comedy of gender skirmishes that let him play the foil to a heroine sworn off romance. The films have outlived him, but Meredith himself vanished from the frame almost as quickly as he entered it, leaving only those three celluloid footprints behind.
