Biography
Memphis, Tennessee, greeted Jack Nelson’s first cry on 15 October 1882, and by the 1920s the town’s rhythm had followed him west. In front of the camera he battled through *A Fighting Heart* (1924) and unraveled *Midnight Secrets* the same year; behind it he steered jungle vines and cliffhangers as director of *Tarzan the Mighty* (1928). Between shoots he exchanged vows with Stella, later with Grace. The final curtain fell on 10 November 1948 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, where the lakes kept the echo of his reels.
