Biography
Jack Standing first drew breath on 10 February 1886 amid the fog and footlights of London, England. Within a decade he had slipped across the Atlantic and into flickering immortality, lending his sharp-profiled charm to A Father’s Love (1913), dodging trains and dastardly schemes in The Perils of Pauline (1914), and wrestling salvation in The Evangelist (1916). Off-screen, he collected two wives—Patricia Dorothy Harcourt and, later, Catherine Doucet—before pneumonia cut the final reel on 26 October 1917 in sun-soaked Los Angeles, California.
