Biography
On Groundhog Day, 1871, Minnesota welcomed James Burns into the world. Thirty-four springs later he stepped before the camera for The Road o’ Strife, a 1915 one-reeler that still carries his name. He left the stage for good on 18 May 1946 in sun-baked Los Angeles, closing a quiet but enduring seventy-five-year performance.
