Biography
Long before stuntmen spelled out danger in capital letters, a rangy daredevil named James M. Johnson dashed across the screen. In 1913 he dove head-first into The Rogues of Paris, a year later led audiences through the roaring chaos of The Yellow Traffic, and by 1915 was galloping across the snow-scarred frontier in The Great Lone Land, turning each frame into proof that courage could be captured on celluloid.
