Biography
A mountain-town baby, Jane Bernoudy first saw daylight on 19 August 1893 in New Castle, Colorado. By 1917 she had traded the Rockies for flickering klieg lights, slipping into three one-reel adventures—The Mysterious Outlaw, Mr. Opp, and The Girl in the Checkered Coat—before the credits could even finish rolling. Fifty-five autumns later, on 28 October 1972, she took her final bow in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, leaving the screen but not the story.
