Before talkies took over, Jeanette Horton flickered across nickelodeon screens in three swift bursts: first as the heroine of *Her Reckoning* in 1915, then chasing a fortune in 1916’s *Sudden Riches*, and finally trading wisecracks with the title vamp in 1919’s *A Virtuous Vamp*.
