Biography
Before Chaplin’s tramp had even laced his boots, John McCann had already slipped through the flicker of cinema’s earliest days. In 1914 he stalked the moral shadows of *The Wards of Society*, then resurfaced a year later amid the futuristic ruins of *The Regeneration* (1915). By 1917 he was nursing a heart scorched by obsession in *Wrath of Love*.
