Biography
Oakland, California, welcomed John Sheehan on 22 October 1885, and from there he set out on a four-decade screen career that carried him from Broadway sketches to hard-boiled Hollywood classics. Moviegoers remember his quick-fire presence in The Pay Off (1942), the razor-edged tension of The Criminal Code (1931), and the breezier charm of Ticket to Paradise (1936). Off-camera, he shared his life with wife Blanche Morris Roberts. Sheehan’s final curtain fell on 14 February 1952 in Calabasas, California, closing the reel on a performer who never stopped sharpening every line he delivered.
