Biography
Joseph A. Wilkes slipped in front of the camera just as the silent era found its voice, leaving bright fingerprints on three 1912–1914 one-reelers. In 1912 he helped keep the romantic plates spinning in Very Much Engaged; two years later he stepped into A Good Little Devil’s mischievous glow and The Drama of Heyville’s small-town turmoil, then vanished from the frame, his brief arc in early Hollywood history forever fixed at those six electric minutes of celluloid.
