Biography
A Rhode Islander by birth, J.P. Wild first saw daylight in Apponang before racing west to chase the flickering new art of cinema. Within a single whirlwind year—1918—he blazed across the screen three times: as the fervent lead in *Tongues of Flame*, the gambler in *High Stakes*, and the homecoming soldier in *Nancy Comes Home*. Three roles, three storms of nitrate, and then silence. He died in Venice, California, on 2 May 1921, leaving only those fleeting images to speak for him.
