Biography
Buffalo, New York, welcomed Kingsley Benedict on 14 November 1878, and by 1917 he had traded upstate winters for the heat of flickering klieg lights. In a single whirlwind year he dashed through three cliff-hanging serials—Perils of the Secret Service, The Last Cigarette and The Crimson Blade—writing swerves into the plots while playing the hero audiences counted on each Saturday.
