A four-pawed star trotted out of obscurity and onto the screen in 1914, stealing The Million Dollar Mystery scene by scene. Seven years later he was still calling the shots on busy sidewalks, policing the no-parking zones in No Parking (1921) and chasing laughter through the silent caper Sneakers that same year.
