Biography

"Hailing from New Ulm, Minnesota, Lenore Ulric was born on July 21, 1892. Primarily recognized as a character actress, her cinematic output was notably sparse, encompassing just thirteen films over a career that spanned from 1915 to 1947. Ulric, at 23 years old, made her screen debut in 1915 with The Better Woman. Following her appearance in The Road to Love (1916), she embarked on a seven-year hiatus from the silver screen, only to re-emerge in 1923, captivating audiences in the title role of Tiger Rose. Another significant pause in her filmography ensued, broken by her roles in Frozen Justice (1929) and South Sea Rose (1929). A considerable gap then preceded her return for Camille (1936). Nearly a decade later, she resurfaced for two productions in the 1940s: Temptation (1946) and Two Smart People (1946). Her final cinematic endeavor was Northwest Outpost (1947), after which, at the age of 55, Lenore Ulric retired from filmmaking permanently. She passed away from heart failure in Orangeburg, New York, on December 30, 1970, at the age of 78."
