Biography
Swanton, Vermont, greeted Leo Delaney with March frost on 15, 1885, and before two decades had passed he had traded its quiet streets for the flicker of early movie lamps. Between 1910 and 1919 he slipped in and out of character for A Tin-Type Romance, took on Shakespeare’s forests in As You Like It, and faced the fall of an empire in The Great Victory, Wilson or the Kaiser? The Fall of the Hohenzollerns. The camera last rolled for him in 1919; on 4 February 1920 he took his final bow in New York City, leaving the stage at thirty-four.
