Biography
Buffalo greeted the Fourth of July fireworks of 1857 with an extra spark: the birth of Lizzie McCall. The stage soon became her homeland, and in 1915 she stepped before the cameras for *The Other Girl*, sealing a single, luminous credit in silent-film history. Eighty-five years after that Independence Day debut, the Bronx closed her curtain on 18 April 1942.
