Biography
Oakland, California, greeted Louis Bennison’s first cry on 17 October 1884. By his mid-thirties he had swapped quiet Bay-Area streets for the flicker of silent-film studios, slipping into cowboy boots for Sandy Burke of the U-Bar-U (1919), trudging down The Road Called Straight the same year, and trading quips in Oh, Johnny! (1918). Off-screen he claimed Frances P. Bennison as his leading lady. The final curtain fell on 9 June 1929, far from home, in the electric hum of New York City.
