Biography
For three decades at the dawn of the 20th century, the operatic world was captivated by the French tenor Lucien Muratore. From the historic stages of Paris to the vibrant theaters of Buenos Aires, Chicago, and Boston, he breathed life into the compositions of Massenet, Fauré, and Saint-Saëns. Muratore’s charisma extended into the burgeoning film industry, where he often shared the spotlight with his second wife, the renowned Italian soprano Lina Cavalieri. He made his motion picture debut on American soil, stepping into the role of the Chevalier Des Grieux.
