Biography
Lucille Saunders stepped briefly but brightly into the early glare of silent film, her name forever linked to the 1914 release of *The Chocolate Soldier*. Three months after the Armistice that silenced the guns of Europe, she too fell silent, passing away in San Francisco on 8 January 1919.
