Biography
Ludmila Sychova stepped in front of the camera just as Russian cinema was learning to speak: in 1914 she walked through the fragile daylight of Dni nashey zhizni, and the next year she twice returned to the screen—first as a resident of the city’s grimy alleys in Peterburgskiye trushchobi, then as a figure caught in the raw, mythic upheaval of Dionysus’ Anger.
