Biography
A midsummer baby, Luigi Cimara first drew breath in Rome on 19 July 1891 and never really left the city that shaped him. Over four decades he slipped into skins onstage and on-screen—memorably swearing Loyalty of Love in 1934, tempting fate as Adam in 1949’s Adam and Eve, and stitching together a century’s worth of hearts for Cento anni d’amore in 1954. The Tiber finally reclaimed him on 26 January 1962, closing the circle where it began.
