Biography
Lydia Mead entered the world on 9 November 1888 in New Rochelle, New York, and stepped before the camera during the wild, nickelodeon era of silent film. Audiences first caught her in the whirlwind serial The Million Dollar Mystery (1914), followed swiftly by The Man Without Fear that same year, and later in the domestic drama Divorce and the Daughter (1916). Off-screen, she shared her life with husband M. Perry Horton. Six weeks into 1958, on 24 January, she drew her final breath in Greenwich, Connecticut.
