Biography
Born on a winter’s day—9 December 1875—in the lake-cradled reaches of Michigan, Lyster Chambers traded small-town quiet for the flicker of silent-film dreams. Within a single year he slipped into three disparate skins: the social-climbing husband of *Fine Feathers*, the breathless aviator of *Bretna Green*, both released in 1915, and, half a decade later, the daring rescuer racing through the cliff-hanger chapters of *Bride 13* (1920). Off-screen he claimed a quieter leading role, husband to Helen Ashmun. The final curtain fell on 27 January 1947 in Manhattan, the city that had long served as his professional compass, leaving behind a modest but indelible footprint on the infancy of American cinema.
