Biography
Mabel Wright first drew breath in 1880 somewhere amid the sprawling United States, and before the roar of the twenties had faded she had already slipped into three very different skins: the curious Alice on-screen in 1931, the tormented heroine of My Friend the Devil back in 1922, and the brisk comic spark of Right Off the Bat in 1915. After nearly nine decades of living, she took her final bow in California during the warm July of 1972, leaving behind a slim but unmistakable celluloid trail.
