Biography
Marie Kiernan arrived in the world on 25 March 1910, amid the salt-tinged air of Seattle, Washington. Before she had blown out seven candles, she stepped before the camera and became the trembling heart of *The Sacrifice of Jonathan Gray* (1915). Two years later she slipped into gothic shadows twice more, haunting the screen in *The Rose of Blood* and *The Soul of Satan*, both released in 1917. Off-set, she took the name of Francis C. Sellar in marriage. She closed her final act back where it began, dying in Seattle on 31 March 1967, a lifetime and six days beyond her opening scene.
