Biography
Mart Heisey first drew breath in 1865, stepping onto a very different kind of stage than the one that would later bear his name. Between 1913 and 1915 he slipped into the flickering new world of celluloid, lending his presence to *The Man of Him*, prowling through *The Wolf*, and tallying the cost of *For $5,000 a Year*. Off-camera, he shared his life with Elva Nelson. The final curtain fell for him on 21 April 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, the city where his last scene was quietly shot.
