Biography
While Europe was still discovering the magic of moving pictures, a young Berliner named Martin Wolff slipped behind the camera and, in 1913, gave the world the playful puzzle *Wer ist Sieger?*—a title that seemed to ask the same question the war-weary continent would soon echo. Six years later, with the Kaiser’s empire in ruins, Wolff returned to the screen twice: first to chronicle the twilight of imperial dreams in *Kaiser Wilhelms Glück und Ende*, then to skewer romantic illusions with the sly satire *Die Törichte Jungfrau*. Three films, three moods, one brief career—yet each frame still flickers with the curiosity of a man who caught history winking.
