Mary Martin stepped in front of the camera three times and left indelible footprints: first in 1915 she guided audiences through The Wonderful Adventure, then in 1916 she set the screen ablaze as The Vixen, and finally in 1917 she wore the scarlet letter that cinema history still remembers.
