Biography
Born under the soft mid-summer skies of County Meath on 23 July 1890, Mary Moore stepped first onto the world’s stage and then, almost as quickly, onto the flickering silver one. Within four whirlwind years she breathed life into Lola (1914), lent heart to Under Southern Skies (1915), and challenged complacency in Ignorance (1916). The cameras had barely stopped rolling when, on 3 February 1919, the Great War’s final winter claimed her in Fère-en-Tardenois, Aisne, France, leaving the film reels—and the audiences who adored her—to carry her spark forward.
