Biography
Maude Gilbert arrived in the world on 24 May 1879 somewhere amid Pennsylvania’s steel-town haze. Within months of the 1915 calendar turning, she sprinted through three flickers of celluloid immortality—Samson, A Gilded Fool, and The Alien—each one a one-reel sprint that fixed her face to the nickelodeon era’s flickering light. Off-screen, she claimed Hayward Ginn as her lifelong scene partner.
