Biography
A crisp November morning in Paris, 1888, brought Maurice Vinot into the world. By twenty-one he was already flickering across early cinema screens, most memorably as the tormented lead in Le fou (1909), the outlaw of Le proscrit (1912), and the château-bound noblewoman’s love in La châtelaine (1914). Off-camera, he shared his life with fellow actor Marthe Vinot. World War One cut the story short: on 23 June 1916, near Pontlevoy in the Loir-et-Cher, the curtain fell for good.
