Biography
Mici Haraszti first drew breath on 25 June 1882 among the castle-crowned hills of Trencsén, then Austria-Hungary, today Trenčín, Slovakia. Her talent carried her from provincial stages to flickering early film sets, where she earned notice in three very different eras of Hungarian cinema: the wartime comedy *Három csengö* (1941), the silent-era farce *Házasodik az anyósom* (1916), and the biting melodrama *Becstelen becsület* (1919). Six decades after her birth, on 18 February 1964, her final curtain fell in Budapest, the city that had long served as her artistic home.
