Biography
Mihail M. Mihail was an early Greek comic actor who worked in both theater and the silent era of Greek cinema. He made his first stage appearances as a child and continued performing with major Athens theatrical companies before gaining attention in revue and musical comedy. During the 1920s he became one of the first Greek screen comedians, writing, starring in, and often shaping the scenarios of his own films. Among the silent comedies most closely associated with him are Michael Doesn't Have Any Change (1924), The Wedding of Concetta and Mihail (1926), and To oneiro tou Mihail (1926), in which he frequently appeared opposite Concetta Moshou. His work stands among the earliest attempts to establish a distinctly Greek comic character on screen at a formative moment for the national cinema.
