Biography
Nat G. Deverich first drew breath on 20 February 1893 amid the electric chaos of New York City. By 1914 he was already orchestrating mayhem behind the camera on His Last Dollar, and six years later he steered two back-to-back releases—Witch’s Lure and The Invisible Divorce—into theaters from the director’s chair. Off-set he claimed actress Loretta Blake as his wife; on-set he wrangled budgets, egos and schedules until the lights dimmed. The final curtain fell on 11 April 1963 in Hollywood, California, closing a life spent conjuring flickering dreams from thin strips of celluloid.
