Before the Roaring Twenties had a name, Nellie Grant was already flickering across nickelodeon screens. In 1916 she stepped into Ruth’s untarnished shoes for The Innocence of Ruth, and the next year—1917—she twice traded innocence for wonder, first sculpting daydreams in Builders of Castles, then unleashing a genie’s mischief in Chris and His Wonderful Lamp.
