Biography
Nick Woods arrived in 1857 somewhere in Germany, stepped onto the screen for the first—and last—time in middle age, and left audiences laughing through three brisk one-reelers: the mischievous courtship of *Peggy’s Invitation* (1913), the cliff-edge suspense of *The Chasm* (1914), and the dining-room chaos of *The Head Waiter* (1913). Nearly two decades after hanging up his greasepaint, he drew his final breath on 21 March 1936 in New Rochelle, New York.
