Biography
Ninon Fovieri arrived in the world on 5 February 1909 somewhere in France, already poised for the glow of footlights and film lamps. Before she turned ten, she had faced the camera three times—haunting the dark corridors of *The Children in the House* in 1916, outwitting grown-ups in *Let Katie Do It* the same year, and brightening wartime screens as one of the *Cheerful Givers* in 1917. After that brief blaze of silent stardom, she slipped from the frame, living eight quiet decades away from the lens. Her story closed in February 1989 on the opposite shore of the Atlantic, in New York City, where she died at age eighty.
