Biography
A Constantinople cradle rocked Olympia Damaskou into the world in 1878; four decades later she stepped before the camera to bring the shepherdess Golfo to life in Greece’s first feature film (1915). Off-screen she shared her name—and her days—with Evangelos Damaskos. The curtain fell for good in 1929.
