Biography
Louisville, Kentucky, claimed him first on December 1, 1865, and by the time the camera began to crank he had already traded the Ohio River’s fog for the flicker of silent-film arc lights. Between 1915 and 1916 Orrin Johnson stepped before the lens three times that history remembers: as the schemer in *Satan Sanderson*, as one of the sword-brandishing brothers in *The Three Musketeers*, and amid the shadowed rituals of *The Penitentes*. Off-screen, two weddings wrote their own stories—first to Isabel B. Smith, later to Katherine Grey. The final curtain fell on November 24, 1943, in Neenah, Wisconsin, where the Fox River quietly took over the role of audience.
