Biography
Born in Konstanz on 23 August 1899, Otto Reinwald grew up where the Rhine bends beneath medieval towers, a setting that fed his taste for drama. He stepped before the camera for the icy chills of The Head (1959), slipped into the noir shadows of Sehnsucht hat mich verführt (1958), and helped orchestrate the jungle thriller Die rote Hand (1960), juggling acting duties with the logistics of production. Four decades after that lakeside childhood, he drew his final breath in Munich on 1 July 1968, leaving behind a compact but unmistakable imprint on West German cinema.
