Biography
Paraskevas Oikonomou was a leading figure of Greek musical theatre and operetta. Beginning his career in 1924 at the Giannis Papaioannou Theatre, he became a central performer and later succeeded Papaioannou as a company manager with his own troupe. He collaborated with some of the most celebrated artists of his time, including Zozo Dalmas, Marika Krevata, Iro Handa, Rena Dor, Lela Skordili, and Vangelis Anousakis, appearing on stages in Athens, Thessaloniki (notably at the Lefkos Pyrgos Theatre in 1948), across Greece, and in Egypt. During his stay in Cairo, he also starred in three feature films produced in what became known as the "Egyptian period" of Greek cinema.
