Biography
Winter had barely settled on Eger when Péter Andorffy drew his first breath on 10 January 1856. The stage soon claimed him: by 1915 he had morphed into the tormented lover of *Lyon Lea*, two years later he was leading the cave-dwelling outcasts in *Barlanglakók*, and in 1919 he slipped behind the fabled mask of *Casanova*. Four months after that last premiere, on 31 May 1919, he closed his final act on the shores of Balatonfüred, Hungary.
