Biography
A product of late 19th-century America, Raymond Russell entered the world in 1887 and eventually found his calling under the flickering lights of the silent film era. He became a fixture in the fantastical realms created by L. Frank Baum, most notably through his performances in the 1914 productions 'The Patchwork Girl of Oz' and 'His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz'. Russell further expanded his filmography with the 1915 release 'The Gray Nun of Belgium', demonstrating a versatility that promised much more. However, his journey reached an untimely conclusion in New York City, where he passed away in 1918.
