Biography
Renée Sylvaire stepped before the camera in the early flicker of French cinema, lending her presence to three now-legendary silents: the Shakespearean spoof Être ou ne pas être in 1922, the Parisian melodrama Father John; or, The Ragpicker of Paris nine years earlier, and the mind-bending fantasy The Serum of Reason in 1914.
