Biography
Born under midsummer skies in 1893 Wisconsin, Rexford Burnett traded lake winds for klieg lights, slipping before the camera as the nimble rogue in 1914’s *The Master Cracksman*. Four years later he sent-up temperance crusaders in the breezy one-reeler *The Thing’s the Play*, then swapped slapstick for salty spray in 1929’s seafaring talkie *The Lure of the Atlantic*. Fifty-seven summers after his Wisconsin debut, the curtain rang down in Palmdale, California, on 13 February 1971.
