Biography
While others were still learning to crank a camera, Richard Johnson was already skimming the edge of danger—first as the square-jawed midshipman in Neal of the Navy (1915), then sprinting alongside locomotives for the 119-episode cliff-hanger marathon The Hazards of Helen (1914), and finally steering a steamboat toward catastrophe in the river-disaster spectacle The Sultana (1916).
