Biography
Philadelphia welcomed Richard Neill on 12 November 1875, and from that day forward he carried the city’s crackle into every role he tackled. On-screen he stalked the serial jungles of *The King of the Kongo* (1929), rode the windblown frontier of *Tumbleweeds* (1925), and navigated the marital wreckage of *The Unfortunate Marriage* (1917). Between takes he sharpened plots and dialogue, quietly shaping stories from the writer’s chair. Nearly a century after his first appearance, the curtains closed on 8 April 1970 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, closing the circuit on a life spent inventing worlds for others to inhabit.
